It has been three times I joined the orientation program for new students since 2013 at Faculty of Nursing, Chulalongkorn University Bangkok Thailand. What I felt like more than great. The Faculty always arranged the program outside the Bangkok city to visit the rural areas with a very recommended facilities and great sceneries to take a selfie. What do you think when you open your eyes in the morning and seeing beautiful mountain view, and breathing fresh air? hehe
It was two-day program on 31 July – 1 August 2016 in Strawberry Town, Brookside valley Rayong, with full of joys, happiness by employing the concept of sanuk (to have fun and to have a good time) in our social interaction, and surely was filled with great knowledge and philosophy underpinnings. I can say that the program is far from violence. And on this program, I represented PhD Students and performed on the stage as A Captain America. What a great experience! haha
Along with the orientation, the faculty also provided the health promotion program in one of the schools in Rayong. On this opportunity, I also learned how good behavior the elementary students have.
Another great thing was the program is blended with the religion, Buddhism. The Buddhist principle has been taught to the students and become a part of value of Thai education.
This program also provided some games to know each other, know how to work together, build the team, increase the confidence, and appreciate elder people. In this program, we also did not forget to sing Chula anthem with full of heart to keep in mind that we are now Chula students. The good name of Chulalongkorn is on our behalf. One we make a mistake, we are done.
On the other hand, Thai people have tradition to give an advice to the younger person, which is from Ajarn (teacher) to the students in this program while tying thread on the wrist.
Lastly, I just like to say thank you so much for the best program provided by Faculty of Nursing, Chulalongkorn University. I am very proud to be here and I will do as much as I can for the best of Chulalongkorn.
